Boxed Figure Sets

Most of these boxed figure sets were released exclusively in Japan between 1987 and 1988, each offering multiple characters and featuring its own distinctive theme. Several figures were unique to their respective sets and could not be obtained in any other way. However, not all boxed releases were Japan-exclusive; Hasbro distributed both the Eight-Pack and the Bandolier in North America and parts of Europe. Each carried its own theme: the Eight-Pack introduced Series Three to the North American market, while the Bandolier reimagined Battle Beasts as wearable accessories.

Perfect 6

Perfect 6-Piece Set

This set, commonly referred to as the "Clear Carp set", was released in Japan in 1988. It is most noteworthy for its inclusion of the Crystal Killer Fish (Clear Carp) figure. Of the six included figures, Crystal Killer Fish, Cobrander, Baboon, Eagle Killer, and Shield Dragon were guaranteed. The remaining sixth figure, however, could either be Demon Key or Little Serow. In Japan, these two figures were only available in this set. This set also included six weapons and six figure cards. All included cards and inserts can be viewed by clicking here.

This set was released in Japan in 1987, and was the source of two premium beasts: Ghost Alligatron and Sunburst White Leo. Of the ten included figures, nine were ordinary series three figures. These figures could be any of the following: Black Jaguar, Bupink, Crowmax, Earthhog, Mingo Kid, Pangol, Slo, White Cow, Udan, Muskhorn, Dream Eater, or Dog Hunter. The remaining tenth figure was either Ghost Alligatron (Clear Gator) or Sunburst White Leo. This set also included ten corresponding weapons, figure  cards, a Beastformers poster, and the left half of the Petrified Stone Cobrander Tablet. All included cards and inserts can be viewed by clicking here.

This set, which showcases six of the middle tier Laser Beasts (Grencats, Fighthorn, Battle Fennec, Killer Hound, and Strong Hurricane), was released in Japan in 1988. Known as the "Shield Battler 6", the six Laser Beasts within this set came with their own unique shields and lasers. Additionally, two "sleds" were included (one red and one gray), which could be equipped with a shield, a laser, and piloted by a Laser Beast. Although this set was exclusive to Japan, individually, each of these beasts were available in Europe under the Battle Charger moniker. This set also included six figure cards. All included cards and inserts can be viewed by clicking here.

VS Anchor

Beast Planet's Greatest Confrontation Set

ビースト星最大の対決セット

Commonly referred to as the "Versus Set", this highly coveted set is themed around the conflict between the Beastformers and the Laser Beasts. Because it includes three high-end Laser Beasts and the exclusive Gold Battle Drill, it commands astronomically high prices on the secondary market. Moreover, since this set was released in 1988, towards the end of the series, it is said that fewer may have been produced as a result of the toy line's diminishing popularity. The contents of this set includes: Skull Grotess, King Buster, Salmomanther, Yellow Giraffe, Goldar, Platinum Tiger, Tiger Hunter Chariot, and the Gold Battle Drill. Additionally, six figure cards and six corresponding weapons were also included. This set was not available outside of Japan. All included cards and inserts can be viewed by clicking here

Eight Pack

Battle Beasts Series Three

IMG_0431.png

Released by Hasbro in 1988, this set of eight Series 3 figures was exclusive to North America, and was the only way Series 3 figures were made available in this region. Of the twenty-four figures in this series, eight were randomly selected and blistered onto an insert that slid into a gorgeous, battle-themed box. Because the Battle Beasts toy line was nearing its end by this point, fewer of these boxed sets may have been released, resulting in today's astronomically high prices on the secondary market.  Variants of this set include: Sunburst Warrior Promotion and the French-Canadian "Comba Nimaux."

Bandolier

Battle Beasts Bandolier

Perhaps one of the quirkiest offerings in the entire Battle Beasts lineup is the Bandolier. This wearable accessory, released exclusively by Hasbro in 1987, allowed you to "carry the battle on your shoulders!" Each Bandolier was packaged with a random Series One figure, which could be fastened to a shoulder strap with an adjustable figure tie. The Bandolier has a maximum carry capacity of 10 figures and features an orange, sealable weapon box for safe accessory storage. Interestingly enough, two of the rarer beast variants—the orange Gargantuan Gorilla and the orange-base plastic Hardtop Tortoise—found their way into the North American market through these Bandoliers.
